Motivating and Engaging the Adult Learner

Abstract: Join us for a research-based presentation on how the adult learner in both the general population and correctional institutions is motivated by and connects to academic and social plans and goals. Participants will develop an understanding of the developmental psychology that affects adults and will learn about strategies and tools for improving instruction and increasing program efficacy. Participants will also look at the underlying and causal factors that affect motivation and engagement and will learn how to apply them to their programs in meaningful, practical, and effective ways.
