Abstract: September 1st, 2022 marked my 30th year in adult basic skills education! Looking back, I’ve distilled ten lessons that apply to our work. In this interactive session, I’ll share what I’ve learned over the years during my time as an instructor, administrator, and professional developer. We will cover a variety of important lessons, such as the danger of a single story, and how success often looks like failure halfway through.
