Abstract:
The Nursing Assistant textbook prepares students for employment as nursing assistants as well as for entry to other health-related programs. The book covers ten chapters, virtual simulations, and checklists to prepare participants to take the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Competency Exam. The book can be viewed online or downloaded in a variety of formats, including PDF and ePub.
Developed by the Wisconsin Technical College System’s Nursing Assistant program, this is an excellent open-source textbook for certified nursing assistant or nursing assistant instruction. As it was designed for the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Competency Exam, it may need to be adapted to each state’s required exam. The online version includes interactive glossary terms that allow learners to examine and reinforce key terminology as they read, and it also contains video content, links to supplementary sources, and interactive knowledge checks. Sample skills checklists are also provided throughout the book.
