    In the wake of COVID-19, adult ESOL learners have had the challenge of adapting to remote learning on their own. Learn how a public charter school in D.C. has met this challenge through scaffolded student learning, teacher training, and differentiated digital literacy instruction. This multi-faceted approach has allowed students to succeed in remote learning this year. The school’s digital literacy focus is also preparing them for hybrid learning in the coming school year.     The Penn State/Muncy tutoring program is a collaboration between Penn State’s Career Pathways program and SCI Muncy, a Pennsylvania female correctional facility. The tutoring program consists of trained tutors working with learners with a variety of educational goals.     This webinar will focus on how to help low-literacy offenders before they enter the ABE multilevel correctional classroom. Participants will learn how to implement a well thought out program that begins with locating and assessing participants and leads to creating and implementing specifically designed instruction for each participant.     Members of Congress and legislative staff are invited to join a Capitol Hill briefing on Adult Education on Thursday, February 25 at 2:00 PM EST. During the briefing, you will hear from panelists that represent the voices of adult students, educators and administrators from around the country and in your home States and districts. The briefing will touch on how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the adult education field and emphasize the critical need for additional funding to be able to serve our students in a high-quality and safe manner.
