This webinar provides viewers with an overview of Integrated Education and Training (IET) through the lens of Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE) in California.
The informational video resource provides background knowledge for those new to IET, IELCE, and the process of creating a SSLO. The resource also includes this worksheet, designed to help instructors and curriculum designers develop SSLOs for their curricula.

The video includes strategies for successful collaboration between IELCE/IET programming and industry and focuses on the features of effective SSLO. The context of the video is focused on ABE programs in California; however, the strategies and suggestions presented can be used by ABE professionals in other states. This resource also includes a worksheet template for developing your own SSLO.

This toolkit provides communication techniques for facilitating a healthy living program for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
The purpose of this toolkit is to familiarize users with intellectual and developmental disabilities and communication techniques to assist in successfully facilitating a healthy living program for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This resource defines and breaks down the term "I/DD", explains the implications of the diagnosis, and offers concrete strategies on communicating with individuals diagnosed with I/DD, as well as best practices for supporting their success in making choices and completing tasks. The techniques presented are particularly helpful for those who have little experience working with individuals who have I/DD. Tips for dealing with challenging behaviors are included as well as links to additional free resources and the underlying research that informs this document.

This course was designed for education providers and practitioners teaching adult basic academic skills, ESOL, and literacy at a distance and/or through blended learning; it provides strategies and resources that are essential for both setting up and implementing distance education or teaching with a blended approach.
This course was developed by the EdTech Center @ World Education with support from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Career, Technical and Adult Education. This course was designed for education providers and practitioners teaching adult basic academic skills, ESOL, and literacy at a distance and/or through blended learning; it provides strategies and resources that are essential for both setting up and implementing distance education or teaching with a blended approach.
The course is made up of topics across four modules. Each topic is a micro-learning lesson that can be completed independently; upon completing each lesson you can earn a digital achievement badge. Complete all topics in a module to earn a Leader badge and complete all topics in all four modules to earn a Transforming Distance Education Innovator badge.

This website, TeachingEnglish by the British Council, contains a wide range of practical resources for teaching English to adults.
This website contains three sections of resources for teaching English to adults: Lesson Plans, Activities, and English for Business. The Lesson Plans section features lessons with easy to use instructions and materials that provide students with the skills and confidence to enjoy learning English. The Activities section contains activities for use in the adult classroom. Lessons and activities are organized by level: Beginner, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, and Advanced.
The lessons in the English for Business section are designed around functional skills for business learners. All of the lessons and activities were written by English language teaching experts and are designed to engage learners in motivating and enjoyable ways. The topics covered are meetings, negotiations, and socializing.

This website contains a rich compilation of lessons designed and uploaded by English language professionals through the British Council. Materials include downloads of lesson plans and worksheets, podcasts and ancillary materials relevant to the broad range of topics and levels addressed in the resources. Educators can choose by topic, by level and by modality (reading, listening, writing) and can adapt content (particularly lexical differences in UK and US English) and can design assessment processes to gauge learners' understandings and competencies within the particular exercises/lessons. The section dedicated to adult learning and learners provides engaging, well-organized, and easily-navigated content that will serve those who teach English to adult non-native speakers and, in many cases, those who teach adult basic education (ABE) learners. The site also contains similar but larger sections targeting elementary and secondary students. That content is also worth exploring since some of those instructional materials will also appeal to older learners. A significant reward for using Teaching English resources for adults is that the vast majority of its content integrates “adult education and literacy activities concurrently and contextually with workforce preparation activities,” as defined by WIOA legislation. (WIOA Title II, 2016, and IET Training Guide, n.d).
